The Fox Valley Football Officials Association (FVFO) is a
longstanding football officials organization working grade school
through high school level football contests in Northeastern Illinois.
Its membership comes from Illinois communities including, but not
limited to: Aurora, Batavia, Bolingbrook, Compton, Crest Hill, Elgin,
Geneva, Glen Ellyn, Hampshire, Joliet, LaSalle, Maple Park, Minooka,
Morris, Montgomery, Naperville, North Aurora, Oswego, Plainfield,
St.Charles, Sugar Grove, Wheaton, Woodridge and Yorkville.
The primary purposes of the group are to promote, encourage, and improve high school football officiating in the state of Illinois. Most, if not all, members are registered with the Illinois High School Association (IHSA).
Experience levels range from those who are "brand new at it" to seasoned veterans who have worked State High School Championships.
New football officials are encouraged to become members and to attend association meetings where they can: learn how to apply the rules; learn how to work with one or more partners; and get assignments to gain experience while working with veteran officials at the grade school, junior high & underclassman high school levels.
Meetings are generally held in Aurora, Illinois at 7:30 PM on Monday nights beginning in late July and running through early December. Regular meetings are held weekly during the first five Mondays prior to the start of the high school football season; informal meetings are periodically held during the season and usually prior to the start of the IHSA State Playoffs; with an Annual Business Meeting held the first Monday following the IHSA State Championships.
FVFO is a participating member of the Inter-Athletic Council of Officials (IACO)
Fox Valley Football Officials Association
