Q:I work several sports that use the
Arbiter system. Do I have to sign up for each sport in order to have a
calendar that is linked?
A: In some respects, yes?
The Chicago HS Football Assigners group represents approximately 11 of
the local area assigners. As
far as high school football is concerned one calendar is all that you
will need to keep updated, though we have heard that there are a few
youth football assigners that also have Arbiter sites to process their
games. Again, one UN and PW
is all that is required.
Q: I also work baseball and basketball. What do I do then?
A:
We know there are other assigners in other sports that also use the Arbiter. Basketball is a prime example. Like Football, there is also a Chicagoland Basketball Group which consists of approximately 12 assigners. In addition, Steve Taylor of the EAOA also has an Arbiter site and if you work any level of basketball for Steve you will have the opportunity to use the same user name (driven by your email address) as your login. If your other assigners also have an Arbiter site, then you can “link” all your sites together so you manage one availability calendar. Each group you belong to will have a Group number.Q: How do I sign up for the Arbiter?
A: You don’t.
Contact any of the assigners who are part of the Chicago Alliance
and they will have to do the “initial registration”.
Once they add your name and email address to the Arbiter system,
the system will tell them if you have an existing account and whether
you are the same person.
Your login is tied into your email address so as long as you already
have an EXISTING Arbiter login.
The Assigner will then send you a WELCOME that will require you
to ACCEPT the invitation to join the Chicago FB Alliance and to CHECK
the Ready to be Assigned box for that sport.
Q: Is it important for me to keep my
Availability calendar current?
A:
Yes! If you are
unavailable during certain times of the day or you have either work or
family commitments simply BLOCK those dates with a FULL day Block or a
Partial Day Block. Injuries
or work or family commitment do arise during the season and it is
important that this information be kept current in order to fill
assignments. The system also
allows you to insert notes so if you are holding a date for another
assigner (can be either a non-Arbiter or Arbiter Assigner) simply insert
your comments so we can see.
Q: I don’t know how to use the BLOCK
feature!
A: After you login to your account
in the upper right hand corner you will see a blue Support tab.
Click on this tab and you will be redirected to the support Home
page. In the left hand
column you will see a FAQ’s section that will give you specific
information on how to use the various features of the Arbiter system.
Q: Why is it so important to keep the
information in my Profile current?
A: The schools use this
information to contact you in the event of a schedule change.
If you do NOT list a cellular phone number then they will not be
able to reach you. As they
get more comfortable with the Arbiter system, more and more schools are
also using this information to process your payment.
Q: What happens if I forget my password?
A: Unlike the Assign by Web
program, your Assigners do NOT have your password. If you forget your
password simply click on the Forgot Password button on the login page
and Arbiter will resend you your password.
